Dental health
Our Veterinary Nurses can help you look after your pet’s teeth and ensure dental health through the use of:
- Veterinary Dental Gels. Not all pets will tolerate their teeth being brushed, but it is worth being patient as veterinary dental gels are formulated so that even getting a small amount of gel in the mouth, once a day, will help reduce plaque and tartar.
- Dental Chews. Have a look around as there are several options apart from the old-fashioned butcher’s bone, including Rask chews, Nylabones, Dental Kongs, or rawhide ‘bones’.
- Dental Diets. There are now several diets formulated to help maintain dental health, the principle being the biscuit has the texture similar to a stale gingernut and when chewed it massages the gums.
Remember, prevention is better than cure and any dental care you can provide will help your pet remain healthy and happy.
