Emergencies out of normal hours
There may be an occasion when your pet requires emergency treatment out of normal hours. In the past the vets and nurses in this practice have covered out of hours emergencies in addition to their normal working hours.
To improve the service we offer this practice has joined the Bedfordshire Emergency Treatment Service, BedsVets, in Barton le Clay, just 20 minutes by car. All calls to the Biggleswade surgery out of normal hours will be transferred directly to BedsVets, or you can phone 01582 883013.
The benefits to you and your pet include:
- BedsVets is staffed continually at night, weekends, and Bank Holidays, by vets and veterinary nurses highly trained in dealing with emergency cases.
- The BedsVets staff only work at night, over weekends, and on Bank Holidays, on shifts, so they are always fresh and ready to deal with emergencies at any time of the night.
- The BedsVets practice is equipped to the same high standards of this surgery, so you may be sure you will receive the same standard of medical and surgical care that we provide.
- You may be sure your pet will receive the very best treatment out of normal hours from the BedsVets critical care team. They will be waiting for your call on 01582 883013; there are no answerphones, or pagers, you get through to a member of the BedsVets team immediately.
- Emergency Consultation fees are similar to those charged by us currently, and start from £60 + VAT.
- This all means your pet will receive the very best emergency care possible out of normal hours.
Dedicated emergency veterinary centres have been opening in the UK during the last 3 years. This has been driven by recent changes to employment law making the old way of working difficult to continue, but we believe also provides a better emergency service.
- Please note, BedsVets Emergency Service is only available for emergencies at night, weekends and on Bank Holidays.
